Arcosanti - An Urban Laboratory in the Arizona Desert.

photo by Sur Kirschphoto by Sur KirschThe monsoon season that began in July has not let up here in the Arizona Highlands, Normally occasional drops from the heavens are welcomed by all the living things including us desert dwellers. This time around, the fury that descended upon the Prescott National Forrest was a bit too much for our desert habitat, and the storm was considered an event that happens only every few decades.

A torrential rain mixed in with hails resulted to in flooding the Arcosanti site and desert wash which are otherwise dry most of the year.

Our recently repaired dike in the field could not hold the relentless rise in water and eventually gave out.
