Prescott Jazz Society

Founded by jazz historian and performer Milton DeLove Cannon, Jr., Prescott Jazz Society incorporated in 1994 as a member-driven non-profit organization. PJS was developed as the professional entertainment component of the edu-tainment Cannon Academy of Performing Art, founded in 1993.  After more than 20 years of presenting the Prescott area with some of the greatest jazz musicians, Prescott Jazz Society continues to work to create the broadest appeal across language and ethnic barriers. PJS encourages all people to appreciate and recognize jazz as the most relative, creative and democratic art form in the western world.

Prescott Jazz Society presents a year-round calendar of annual events celebrating dates of national cultural and historical significance:

    Black History Month (February)
Jazz Appreciation Month/International Jazz Day/J.A.M. (April)
    Juneteenth/Emancipation Proclamation Act (June)
Birthday Party & Christmas Gala (December)

Prescott Jazz Society is a proud participant in Red Shirt Fridays, supporting America's servicemen and servicewomen.

The Juneteenth event is sponsored by The Color Factor, Earnhardt Liberty KIA, think4inc, The Frame & I, Dinner Bell Cafe, Magic 99.1, El Gato Azul, Spring Hill Suites Marriot and Hensley Budweiser.
