SOLERI IN CAVE CREEK: THE DOME

The exhibit celebrates Paolo Soleri (1919-2013) in Cave Creek. Besides photos of The Dome House, which was built for Nora Woods by Soleri and fellow architect Mark Mills in 1949, a small model of the house and a light weight concrete mural of an early Soleri bridge design, carved using Soleri’s silt cast technique, are featured.

photo by Aimee Madsenphoto by Aimee MadsenSeveral events are planned including a silt cast demonstration and a silt cast workshop for kids.  A special screening of filmmaker Aimee Madsen’s recent film “Paolo Soleri: Beyond Form” is scheduled for December 5th, along with a future screening in late March at the same location, to be announced on the museum link below and on the films facebook page.

Many Soleri bells are available for purchase and a special one of a kind signed Soleri bell assembly is displayed and also available for purchase. The exhibit will remain on view through May 2014. For hours, location and fees, see The Cave Creek Museum.
